Before buying your desired second hand cars, it is important that you will do a thorough inspection first to avoid serious problems in the future. Below are a few steps on how to inspect your used car.
Keep it in park – doing so will surely save your time from driving an obvious worthless car. In addition, cool engine is easier to inspect compared to an engine that has been driving for 20 minutes.
Walk around the car – spend some time inspecting a used car by walking around the car and note of any damages just like how you will inspect when renting a car. As you walk around the car, make sure that you noted of some external damages like deep scratches as it may lead to rust problems. Other than the physical appearance, make sure that the doors shut snugly and make sure that the hinges and latches have no signs of rust and damage. In addition, inspect also for flaking paint, tires, headlights, and the rubber molding.
Touch everything – when inspecting your desired used car, act like a kid and touch everything. Have every switch and lights of the car tested. Test the air conditioner and see if it is still working. Play the car stereo, CD or MP3 player in order to make sure that everything works out fine. Test everything like emergency brake, seat belt, seats, and more.
