The Acura automaker has just recently revealed their latest production versions of the 2013 ILX and RDX.

Specifications haven’t been released, but the company has already confirmed three engines will be available at A 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder with a five-speed automatic, A 2.4-liter four-cylinder with a six-speed manual and A hybridized 1.5-liter four-cylinder which is estimated to return 35 mpg city / 38 mpg highway (US).

The ILX concept shown at last month’s Detroit Auto Show was a definite looker.  For starters, the concept’s massive rims have been ditched for less flashy 17-inchers (16s for the hybrid). Also missing is the chrome trim surrounding the front air dams. The 2013 ILX is based on the Honda Civic, but the two don’t share any sheet metal.

The 2013 Acura RDX marks the second-generation of the brand’s compact crossover, which is bigger than its predecessor. It’s also much stronger, because of its new 3.5-liter, V-6 engine rated at 273 hp, which is 33 more than the outgoing 2.3-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder. Thanks to a new six-speed automatic and a revised all-wheel drive (the Super-Handling AWD has been ditched), the 2013 RDX front-drive model achieves an estimated 20/28 mpg city/highway, while the all-wheel-drive model is rated at 19/27 mpg. The previous front and all-wheel drive RDX achieved 19/24 mpg and 17/22 mpg.

Production of the 2013 RDX is scheduled to begin this spring. Pricing should be announced shortly after the end of the Chicago Show.
