The new Mercedez Benz model, 2013 SL63 AMG, is created based on the redesigned SL. This latest car from Mercedez Benz has new improved performance and stylish cosmetic upgrades .

The AMG edition will offer buyers a choice of two output levels. The standard AMG-tuned twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter direct-injection V8 is rated at 530 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque. Driving the rear wheels through an AMG Speedshift MCT seven-speed sports transmission, the engine delivers 0-60 acceleration in 4.2 seconds, with top speed electronically limited to 155 miles per hour according to Mercedes-Benz.

The optional AMG Performance Package kicks up output to 557 hp and torque to 664 lb-ft, while trimming 0.1 second from the 0-60 time. Top speed rises to 186 mph.

AMG has trimmed 275 pounds from the car, which enables the standard twin-turbo V8 to return 30-percent better fuel economy — 24 miles per gallon on the combined European driving cycle.

But the focus remains on performance, with such standard features as AMG active suspension, AMG speed-sensitive sports steering, AMG high-performance compound brake system, AMG sports exhaust system and AMG alloy rims with 255/35R19 front and 285/30R19 rear tires.

Options include an AMG performance suspension, AMG rear axle differential lock, ceramic high-performance compound brakes with red-painted calipers, multispoke AMG forged wheels (available in matte black) with 255/35R19 front and 285/30R20 rear tires, and an AMG performance steering wheel.

The SL63 AMG gets a unique front apron with a large airdam, an AMG radiator grille, LED daytime running lights, side sills, rear lip spoiler, diffuser-style rear apron and chromed twin tailpipes.

The interior features AMG sport seats in single- or two-tone nappa leather, an AMG instrument cluster, carbon-fiber trim, illuminated sills, ambient lighting and an IWC analog clock.

Among the extra-cost equipment: Active Parking Assist, Airscarf heating, Bang & Olufsen BeoSound audio, Driving Assistance package, keyless go and climate seats.

According to Mercedes, fuel economy is estimated at 23.8 mpg combined.

Sending drive to the rear wheels is AMG’s advanced MCT seven-speed automatic transmission. The unit features an innovative start-up clutch, which runs in an oil bath and replaces a conventional torque converter. Thanks to its low rotational mass, the start-up clutch helps the transmission respond instantaneously and dynamically with no slip.

There are also four different shift modes to play around with: “C” (Controlled Efficiency), “S” (Sport), “S+” (Sport plus) and “M” (Manual). Note, the Controlled Efficiency mode now features an engine stop-start system to help curb that fuel consumption.

In terms of handling and dynamics, the 2013 SL63 AMG gets an enhanced version of the AMG sports suspension that’s based on the Mercedes-Benz active damping setup. Here, the driver can choose between two different modes, in this case “Sport” and “Comfort”.

AMG engineers have also installed a speed-sensitive steering setup, which benefits from a faster, constant ratio and variable power assistance that adjust automatically to the suspension settings. Once again the driver has the choice of varying drive modes, with the “SPORT Handling” being the most extreme. Note, to further refine things AMG offers as an option a rear axle differential lock and performance suspension.

Stopping power comes from 15.3-inch compound discs with six-piston fixed calipers at the front and 14.2-inch integral discs with single-piston floating calipers at the rear. Carbon ceramic brakes and red-painted calipers are available as an option. These brakes reside in 19-inch light alloy wheels shod with 255/35 tires up front and 285/30 rubber in the rear. A 20-inch set with the same tire dimensions is also available.

The interior is pretty much what we saw in the new SL Class, though with a few unique AMG elements such the Nappa leather AMG sports seats, AMG DRIVE UNIT for selecting all the varying performance modes of the transmission, AMG badges, and an AMG instrument cluster.

The exterior would be the only quibble we have so far as it appears too similar to the standard SL. The changes include a new bodykit, AMG-specific LED daytime running lights, a custom sports exhaust system and an integrated rear diffuser.

Stay tuned for the 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG’s debut at the Geneva Motor Show in just a few weeks and look out for the car in showrooms in the coming months.

The new Mercedes-Benz GLK Class compact SUV was  only introduced as a 2010 model but already engineers are hard at work testing a more improved version that would be published out later this year.

This makes the facelifted GLK a 2013 model, with the new model year will come fresh new styling and a revised engine lineup promising greater performance and efficiency.

The prototypes pictured here can clearly be seen wearing new–but masked–bumpers, both at the front and rear.

Expect to see the hard-edged details of the current model softened a little, with the curvier look of the new 2012 Mercedes-Benz M Class being adopted. This will be especially true for the headlights, which on this prototype also appear to feature new LED elements.

Major changes will also take place inside, with the current model’s center console mounted gearshift lever expected to be swapped with shifter stalks located on the steering column. You’ll notice the empty space in the center console where the gearshift lever used to be in some of the shots.

As for the engine lineup on this 2013 Mercedes-Benz GLK Class, there’s a chance a new entry-level GLK250 model will pick up the highly efficient turbocharged and direct injected 1.8-liter found in the 2012 Mercedes-Benz C Class range. Output should be the same 201 horsepower and 229 pound-feet of torque as found in the C250.

The GLK350 model should remain, though this is likely to adopt Mercedes’ latest 302 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque 3.5-liter V-6–an upgrade of 34 horsepower and 15 pound-feet over the previous V-6.

Also confirmed is a new diesel option for U.S. customers. The 2013 GLK Class will be the sixth Mercedes model to offer a diesel option in the U.S., joining the likes of the E, S, M, R and GL Class models, which all feature a 3.0-liter turbodiesel engine. The GLK is likely to sport a 2.1-liter four-cylinder turbodiesel making 204 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque, an engine that’s already been emissions-certified for the U.S.

Look out for a debut of the 2013 Mercedes-Benz GLK Class at one of the major international auto shows taking place in the coming months.

The Mercedes-Benz uncovered its 2013 E Class at the last month’s Detroit Auto Show, which remains unchanged for the latest model year though it offers an innovative E400 Hybrid model in the U.S. and an E300 Bluetec Hybrid elsewhere.

The new E-Class from Mercedes-Benz represents the pacemaker when it comes to safety,
comfort and environmental compatibility in this market segment. With its unique combination
of driver assistance systems, this saloon further consolidates the leading position of
Mercedes-Benz in the luxury class. Its features include a drowsiness detection system,
Adaptive Highbeam Assist and the proximity control system which is capable of performing
automatic emergency braking when there is acute danger of a collision.
Mercedes-Benz has improved the already exemplary long-distance comfort of the E-Class
even further in the new saloon, principally through the use of intelligent bodyshell technology
with up to 30 percent greater rigidity, further improved seats and a newly developed
suspension whose shock absorbers automatically adjust to the current driving situation. The
optional air suspension now works in combination with an electronic damping system.
The outstanding safety and comfort of the latest E-Class are matched by its environmental
compatibility and economy: the four- and six-cylinder engines are direct-injection units, and
consume up to 23 percent less fuel than before. The combined NEDC consumption of the
new four-cylinder CDI engines is just 5.3 litres per 100 kilometres, which corresponds to 139
grams of CO2 per kilometre. All the engines for the new E-Class meet the EU5 emission
standard, while the emissions from the E 350 BlueTEC are already below the EU6 limits
planned for 2014.
Along with the engines, the BlueEFFICIENCY package for the E-Class is in large part
responsible for the considerable fuel savings. Engineers from every development department
have worked together to optimise assemblies and components, to save fuel by means of
reduced weight, a new form, improved functioning or efficient energy management.

The work done in the wind tunnel was particularly successful, as the resulting drag coefficient
of only 0.25 makes the new E-Class the world’s most aerodynamically efficient luxury saloon.
It betters the already good Cd figure of the preceding model by another four percent, which
represents a fuel saving of around 0.25 litres per 100 kilometres when driving at a motorway
speed of 130 km/h. One of the measures taken to improve the aerodynamics is the adoption
of automatically adjustable fan louvres which control the airflow to the engine compartment in
line with the engine’s cooling requirements.
Other BlueEFFICIENCY measures include newly developed tyres with up to 17 percent lower
rolling resistance, energy-saving control of the alternator, fuel pump, air conditioning
compressor and power steering, and the ECO start/stop function which switches the engine of
the new E 200 CGI off when idling. Displays in the speedometer inform the driver how much
fuel is being consumed (per 100 kilometres), and when the next higher gear should be
selected in order to maintain an economical and environmentally conscious style of driving.

With three completely newly developed four-cylinder engines, the E-Class also remains one
generation ahead where diesel technology is concerned. These engines feature latestgeneration common-rail direct injection, fast piezo injectors, improved exhaust gas
recirculation and an innovative twin turbocharger, making for fast responsiveness and good
performance characteristics. These qualities are reflected in the figures: the new four-cylinder
diesel engine that powers the E 200 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY with 100 kW/136 hp and the E
220 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY with 125 kW/170 hp, achieve a fuel consumption of 5.3 litres per
100 kilometres.

Customers can also choose to combine the E 350 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY and the E 350 V6
models, as well as the eight-cylinder E 500, with the latest-generation Mercedes all-wheel
drive which is more efficient, lighter and more compact than the previous all-wheel drive
technology. These advantages produce noticeably better traction and fuel savings.

The new E-Class is the first car in the world to be equipped with headlamps which adapt to
the traffic situation and respond automatically to avoid dazzling other drivers. The optional
Adaptive Highbeam Assist uses a camera on the windscreen to recognise oncoming traffic
and vehicles moving ahead and to control the headlamps so that their beams do not reach
the other vehicle.
The Lane Tracking package for the new E-Class includes Blind Spot Assist familiar from the
S-Class, and as a new development, Lane Keeping Assist which seeks to prevent the vehicle
from leaving the road unintentionally. When the system recognises that the car is drifting from
its lane, the driver is prompted to take countersteering action by brief but unmistakable
vibrations of the steering wheel. The images from the windscreen camera are also used by
the new, optionally available Speed Limit Assist, which recognises speed limit signs as the
car passes them, then displays the relevant speed limit in the speedometer.
Thanks to an innovative technology, the new E-Class is very sensitive to its driver’s attention
level, and warns him or her of drowsiness in good time. This new ATTENTION ASSIST
drowsiness detection system, which is standard equipment, is equipped with highly sensitive
sensors that continuously monitor more than 70 different parameters. Observing the driver’s
steering behaviour has proved to be a particularly strong indicator: several years of practical
research by Mercedes engineers have shown that drowsy drivers make minor steering errors
which they often correct very rapidly in characteristic ways. These corrections are recognised
by a highly sensitive steering angle sensor.

During the course of its development, the new E-Class was subjected to more than 150 highspeed crash tests. The crumple zone principle invented by Mercedes safety pioneer Béla
Barényi has been continuously improved by the engineers in Sindelfingen. The front-end
deformation zone of the E-Class acts on four independent levels, and is even more effective
than before. The increased use of extra-high-strength steel alloys also helps to ensure that
the bodyshell is able to withstand high impact forces. Around 72 percent of all the body
panels are made from these high-tech steels — yet another unrivalled figure in passenger car
development.
With seven airbags as standard, belt tensioners, belt force limiters, crash-responsive head
restraints and ISOFIX child seat attachments, the new E-Class has even more extensive
safety features than the preceding model. Another new feature is the Active Bonnet, the latest
development to result from Mercedes-Benz’s long-standing commitment to pedestrian
protection. It is standard equipment in the new E-Class. In the event of an impact, a system of
springs raises the rear section of the bonnet by 50 millimetres in a fraction of a second,
thereby increasing the available deformation space. Thanks to the cleverly designed
mechanism, the driver is able to reset the Active Bonnet to its normal position without having
to visit a workshop.
Standard equipment includes a further improved suspension with adaptive shock absorbers.
These automatically adapt to the current driving situation by reducing the damping forces
when driving normally, thereby noticeably improving ride comfort. When taking bends at
speed or during rapid evasive action, the system switches to the maximum damping effect so
that the saloon is stabilised to best effect.
A version with dynamic damping characteristics and a lowered suspension is available as an
optional alternative to the standard suspension (standard for the AVANTGARDE line).
The air suspension system optionally available for the V6 models (standard in the E 500/E
500 4MATIC) has for the first time been combined with an electronically controlled damping
system which processes various sensor signals and controls each wheel independently. In
this way Mercedes specialists have achieved significantly better ride comfort while improving
handling safety and agility at the same time. The driver is able to select either Comfort or
Sport mode at the touch of a button.

Thus, this is car is making it through the progression of cars all over the world. With its style and innovative specifications, Mercedez Benz has done it again. Classy but stylish.

The new Mercedes-Benz E Class Cabriolet has yet again set the standards for travelling in elegance, with open canopy as the automobile manufacturer Carlsson lending the open-top four-seater an extra dash of sportiness. With 20 per cent more power, the new aerodynamic package and the fine interiors, Carlsson guarantees agile travelling of the highest level.

Mercedes Benz has released its VATH car named VATH Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG. The latest car VATH Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG is boasts of a standard engine that has been modified to output of 605 hp, a torque of 690 Nm and maximum speed of 340 km/h.

The VATH Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG V8 drive unit provides for an acceleration of 4,1 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h. Engine retrofitting includes special forged pistons, valves, sports cam shafts, as well as big intake and exhaust valves.

The Econic trucks reaps the benefits of today’s advanced diesel technology. The diesel power units from the 900 series, which are also used in the Axor and Atego, are cleaner than ever. The sustainability of the SCR (Selec­tive Catalytic Reduction) emission control technology is proven day after day by the regis­trations of new trucks already meeting the Euro 5 emissions standard that does not come into effect until 2009. These engines are suitable for biodiesel fuel too without the need for any modi­fications. Daimler does impose the condition, however, that the fuel is a “FAME” (fatty acid methyl ester) fuel that complies with DIN E 51606. Suitable engine oils must furthermore be used and the engine oil, oil filter and fuel filter replaced at much shorter intervals.

The Mercedes-Benz Econic does not just make the ideal municipal service vehicle. The well-conceived cab concept, with a completely flat floor on the frame’s lowered front section, as well as the low frame height in general of just 874 mm mean it is equally suited to fire service applications, use as an airport ground service vehicle, delivering beverages or fuel oil, tanker transport, or even operating underground.

Part of it’s Global warming is the intense used of carbon monoxide from other recreational vehicles but some engineers has brought wonderful to the whole consumers and the public with their newest designs. This car that can run on biofuels can still run on fossil fuels, so without a good supply of sustainable biofuels, that’s probably how they’re going to be used. But still, a step in the right direction. Their plan is to make their whole car lineup petroleum free in 7 years. To do that, they’re looking at battery electric cars, fuel cells, and more efficient combustion engines that can run on biofuels (lets hope that by then we have truly sustainable ethanol and biodiesel).

According to Daimler CEO Dieter Zetsche, Mercedes will have an electric car by 2010, as well as a an electric Smart (there’s already 100 Smart EVs being tested in London). But Zetsche also thinks that this is not the end of the line for the combustion engine, and that new developments in that field will overlap with electric drive technologies. Currently, MB has about 100 electric Smart cars driving around the streets of London. But those are more or less to see how the public reacts to them and to see how they hold up in real world conditions.

The speculation is over and the rumors are true. Mercedes-Benz is planning to launch an all-new electric model in 2010.
